This is a document to describe the creation of a simple TSAR model, beginning with an MGED solid and continuing the process through final results from TSAR. = ,Ī new user, upon receipt of the TSAR EM modeling system, may be overwhelmed by the number of software packages to learn and the number of manuals associated with those packages. Nonetheless, it has already been used to generate meshes for several projects at LLNL, and users of these meshes have obtained acceptable results. Our mesh generator is currently undergoing internal testing further development. In addition to the above changes, several new features and capabilities have been added which together form a very flexible tool for generating FD meshes. By using octants, the mesh generator can sense the configuration of the geometry contained by a cell and assign only those mesh elements which are more » appropriate to the given configuration. The basis of this new approach is a two step process of sampling and filtering which require that each FD mesh cell be subdivided into eight equal-sized octants. In the past, edge (wire) mesh elements were approximated from mesh cells, however, we are now able to generate true edge mesh elements in a direct and straightforward manner. Our new approach also generates mesh elements which are more appropriate for our FD analysis code, TSAR, which calculates edge-based vector unknowns. This new approach has dramatically improved the correspondence between generated meshes and the originating geometries. In addition to the basic changes required by the differences between these two modelers and their application interfaces, we have also developed a new strategy for generating the mesh from the sample data. During the past year we have changed our solid modeling platform for FD mesh generation from the TIPS-1 solid modeler to the BRL-CAD package. For the past three years Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory has been developing methods for generating 3D finite difference (FD) meshes directly from solid models. We recommend a 10 minute window as this will make the network unavailable temporarily. This is where you run an Optimization on your device. This is the process that will analyze traffic for a short period of time and then ensure that the tunnel is optimized to handle that specific traffic. For more information on these settings, please see our VPN Configuration guide. SSL VPN Users lets you configure a remote VPN tunnel, giving you a secure connection to your network. The "Port Forwarding" option lets you create a port forwarding rules in the case you need to add them on the OmniWAN. Once you make any changes here, make sure you hit "Save" on the bottom of the screen. You can customize this more, including setting exclusions for certain sites. The "Content Filtering" option lets you choose what content is allowed on your network and what is forbidden. For example, if you have your content filtering set to "strict", social networking sites will be blocked, but you can add them as security bypass rules if you want people on your network to still access them. The "URL Override Rules" option will let you choose sites for the OmniWAN device to bypass its security features on. We, of course, recommend leaving this on! The "Security" setting toggles the security features on and off. The "DHCP" options let you choose an IP range, and also lets you choose DNS servers. Please keep in mind that Port 1 will be used for WAN and Port 6 is for your LAN. Next, on the "Zones" tab, you can customize your wired network(s). Choose any and all applicable systems, then click "Save". Here you can choose and add the systems your business uses so that the OmniWAN device can recognize them. Choose the option that fits closest for your use case, then hit "Save". Here, you can choose a "category" and "industry" that will tailor the OmniWAN for your needs. You can see your dedicated public IP here. You will be presented with your device overview, as seen below: To configure the device, click the gear icon next to the device you want to configure. After saving the location click on the Home tab to proceed. If the device is still in transit, you can also view the tracking info here.įirst click on the gear icon to set the location of where your device will be located. Your device(s) will be listed here, and their names and serial numbers will be displayed. When logged in, your screen will look similar to this: You can reset your password on the portal to login. Once you receive the email on how to log into the MDS Manager website ( ), you can configure your OmniWAN. After signing up for the Jungle Disk Unified Threat Management service, you will receive an email with the next steps on how to proceed. However, the physics of this quadcopter simulator maybe not that great but it has already improved compared to its previous version. You can also customize the environment – add buildings, factories, and even shipyards. To make it more realistic, you will also be able to customize the model drone as much as you could to a real drone. You will also be scored the same as you would in a real drone racing, taking into consideration the checkpoints and completion times. If you are serious into drone racing, then this one is perfect for you since it offers courses that are particularly similar with the real competition. Simply put, DRL Drone Racing Simulator is the official simulator of the professional Drone Racing League (DRL), and it’s available for a meager cost (although before it is for free). This membership already will enable you to access the simulator, download the race tracks, join the online competitions and even contribute to the funding of the Academy. Moreover, unlike other drone flight simulators in this list, since Rotor Rush allows you to become part of an online community of online drone pilots, Rotor Rush requires a monthly payment for membership. The devices it support is only limited to Taranis and Spektrum Transmitters. This FPV simulator is compatible both for Windows and Mac OS. You may also join in various live online events and to make the experience more realistic these events yet have a live documentary.Īnother unique thing about this simulator is that they have a Rotor Rush Academy that supports schools that teach kids how to build, fly and race drones. This partnership allows you to practice on their official tracks and even race online against other pilots. The developers of the Rotor Rush intend to make drone racing more accessible to everyone, so they partnered with various drone racing organizations like MultiGP, FPV Racing Events, Tiny Whoop, etc. Those who are serious with drone racing will surely appreciate and learn more through this FPV simulator. Rotor Rush is said to be the most actual drone racing and probably one of the best FPV simulators. If you’re just looking to get into it as a hobby, then any of the other options on this page will suffice. I only recommend this software for flyers who are serious about mastering drone flight. The game is challenging and the simulations are realistic, so chances are you won’t get bored of this game. If you’re looking to get into it as a hobby, then any of the other options on this page will suffice. We only recommend this software for flyers who are serious about mastering drone flight. The simulations are realistic and challenging, so chances are you won’t get bored of this drone flight simulator. Not only can you fly DJI’s famous Phantom models, but you’ll also be able to adjust factors like direction, windspeed, night/day, and many other conditions.Īnother key feature is the rewind button that allows you to see the simulation again, especially if you crashed, and helps you identify how to improve your maneuvering skills. You’ll be able to practice your maneuvering and camera skills, as well as explore FPV flying. It’s the epitome of what a quad simulator should be like. It’s a lot, but trust me when I say that it’s worth every penny. Just know- you get what you pay for, so it’s going to be more expensive than some of the other simulators on this list.ĭepending on where you buy it, the game’s going to run you $100 to $200. Its super-detailed, powerful, and simply awesome. The RealFlight Drone Flight Simulator flight sim is among the best that you can buy today. This toy could easily pass for the comic costume. Comic artists have to draw things over and over, by themselves, so the simpler something is, the better movies and TV shows have an entire costume department to put things together, so they get textures and panels and little bits of armor stitched in. The details are more intricate, obviously, because big flat spaces of color are boring in live action. Ryan Meinerding pretty much directly adapted the comic costume for Cap's new suit: nearly as much white as blue, angled lines running from the star on the chest out to the shoulders, etc. Like that figure, this one has his goggles permanently attached to his face, so the toughest part of the likeness to get right is hidden away. This isn't the first Sam Wilson we've gotten in Marvel Legends: first there was the Walmart exclusive from Civil War, then it got re-released in a Target-exclusive two-pack for Infinity War. Too bad they tried to bomb a building to get attention." "So should we actively work to convince governments to take care of everyone? Without bombing a building?" ". "Hey, those Flag Smashers had a really good point about how all nations need to work together to take care of their citizens. Captain America and the Winter Soldier was one of those plentiful Marvel properties where the villains had absolutely commendable goals, but the story allows the heroes to ignore those goals because their methods were so flawed. "Proudly"? Wasn't the entire point of the series that he was unsure about taking on the role? Even after he got the suit it was more a "I can't let that other idiot ruin the name" situation than a "sweet sassy molassy, it's my turn at last!" thing. Sam Wilson proudly takes on the mantle, ready to unite people as the world's new Captain America. Move over, falcons - it's time to let the eagle soar!ĭonning a brand new suit and wings from Wakanda, Ĭaptain America: Sam Wilson Falcon and the Winter Soldier However, there's one big advantage that Mackie chalked up for his alter-ego, only to have reality move it back into the opposition's column, and that's weapons capability.B u y t h e t o y s, n o t t h e h y p e. With wings instead of repulsors, Sam Wilson has more control over how and where he moves. Even taking into account the fact that Falcon's wings do rely on a jet pack for thrust, his jet pack surely isn't as powerful as an Iron Man suit from Tony Stark's lab. It's clear as day, and the exclusive clip from Captain America: Civil War that was shown at the MTV Movie Awards was the best proof of that fact. On the correct side of the spectrum, maneuverability is the key advantage that The Falcon has with his winged apparatus. I feel like I have more maneuverability, I feel like I have more weapon's capability, and what's interesting about my suit as opposed to their suits look the same.Īs awesome as The Falcon's wings really are, Anthony Mackie's assessment is both right and wrong in its merits. On top of the massive advantage of wings not depending on the factor of momentum as much as the jet propulsion an Iron Man does, Mackie went for the kill with the following train of thought: During an interview with Yahoo, Anthony Mackie made the case for Sam Wilson's wings, and he cited quite a bit of evidence in support. By studying not only your intrusive thoughts, but the other symptoms you’re experiencing as well, a professional should be able to distinguish between the two disorders. If you’re unsure about the cause of your intrusive thoughts, the only person who can give you the answer you’re seeking is a licensed mental health professional. One defining factor of an OCD obsession, though, is that they usually revolve around a specific theme, which we’ll talk more about later. There’s not a clear answer on whether an intrusive thought is caused by ADHD or OCD. People with ADHD have intrusive thoughts that just won’t go away, and may find that they ruminate on them. If you have been diagnosed with ADHD, you might have thought to yourself, as you were reading about OCD obsessions: “But I get intrusive thoughts too!”Īnd you’d be right people with ADHD do report that they experience intrusive thoughts that cause more distress to them than they do to people who are neurotypical. If there is an obsession underlying the behavior, however, the re-arranging might be a compulsion, which would make it more likely to be OCD. If it’s the former, that boy may qualify for ADHD. Are they truly just fidgeting because they feel like they can’t sit still, or is there an underlying obsession that’s causing these behaviors?įor example, is the little boy playing with his school supplies because he’s distracted and hyperactive, or is he re-arranging them because he has an overwhelming feeling that something is “off” or that something terrible will happen until his desk is arranged “just so”? It’s important for treatment providers to get to the root of why that person is engaging in these behaviors. For example, consider the example of a young boy who, instead of completing his homework every day, is constantly re-arranging his school supplies. To an outsider, it might just look like the person can’t sit still or that they’re constantly fidgeting. We think that part of the reason why these two conditions are confused is because people with OCD often engage in repetitive behaviors that look strange to people watching them. More specifically, children who actually have OCD are often misdiagnosed with – and treated for – ADHD. In presentation, though, these disorders are often misdiagnosed for each other. On paper, it might seem like OCD and ADHD have nothing in common at all. Similarities Between OCD and ADHD Symptoms As its name suggests, people with ADHD have difficulties maintaining focus, as well as with hyperactivity or impulsivity. What is ADHD?ĪDHD, or Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder, is one of the most common neurological disorders in the world, affecting over 8% of children and over 2% of adults. OCD can be a debilitating disease when left untreated, and is listed by the World Health Organization as one of the top ten causes of disability in the world. To meet the diagnostic criteria for OCD, these obsessions and compulsions must cause a significant decrease in functioning for the person in important areas of their life, like employment or relationships. This could be anything from washing one’s hands over and over again or checking locks (the compulsions that are most commonly associated with OCD) to asking for reassurance or mentally reviewing memories. These are any kind of repetitive, ritualistic behaviors (whether it’s mental or physical) that are meant to reduce the anxiety that’s caused by an obsession. They’re unable to think about anything else when an obsession gets lodged in their minds.Ĭompulsions are what, for people with OCD, follows an obsession. The thought causes them a great deal of distress, anxiety, and fear, and they feel like they’d be willing to do anything just to get the thought to leave their brains. We all have random thoughts like this sometimes, but what makes an obsession different is that the person with OCD ruminates on the thought. Obsessions are intrusive and unwanted thoughts that pop into someone’s head. The disorder is defined by the presence of two specific symptoms: obsessions and compulsions. OCD, or Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, is a mental illness that’s often called “the doubting disease”, because, at its core, it’s an inability to tolerate any level of doubt. If you’ve been following this blog, you’re probably very familiar by now with the symptoms of OCD. “ We call Quake Lake the best kept secret in Montana,” he said. When the park temporarily closed because of flooding, they saw about 400 visitors a day. When the Yellowstone National Park was open, De Santiago said there were about 250 people a day. “ We have seen more people come visit when they closed Yellowstone.” “There are other buildings in the water with the roofs exposed and some of the wreckage of cabins on the far side of the lake that were damaged by the waves,” he said. For years, the roof of her home was exposed and the rest of it submerged in the cool waters of the lake. Miller was in her seventies and managed to escape with her dog as her house dropped into the waters. Miller and her dog got to higher ground in the dark and saved themselves.” “During the quake she kicked her door open and found there was a five-foot drop between the stoop and the ground. She ran a lodge at the edge of the lake,” De Santiago said. The earthquake also caused the lake to tilt causing a tsunami-like wave that caught a lot of people off guard and washed their cabins into the lake. The earthquake centered at Hebgen Lake caused the water to drop 29 feet to the north exposing the lakebed at the south side of the lake. “ The earthquake caused three cracks to appear in the spillway.” “The dam at Hebgen Lake had a concrete spillway built in 1915, it controlled the flow of the Madison River until the earthquake,” the Michigan Native said. It was reported the wind caused by the landslide was over 100 miles an hour and blew the clothes off some people. There were some 250 people that had to be rescued by helicopter because the highway in and out of the area was damaged so bad. The visitor center has many survivors’ accounts where people can read about the tragic events of that day 63 yeas ago. “The slide killed 28 people, 19 people were buried alive, five drowned, two died in the Bozeman Hospital and two died when a boulder came down on the parents of three who were in a tent.” “ There was about 80 million tons of rocks, earth and trees that slid down the face of a mountain blocking the Madison River on Aug. Jonathan De Santiago, a college student doing an internship at the Quake Lake Visitor Center, said the quake caused a massive landslide down river about seven miles. The pine trees in the water have diminished in number over the years. Some of the dead pine trees still rise from the water giving the place an eerie feel to the lake. It was the largest earthquake recorded in the Intermountain West. Less than 30 miles northwest of West Yellowstone on HWY 287 is Quake Lake, a lake caused by a 7.2 earthquake on Aug. The face of the mountain fell into the Madison River in Montana damning it off and forming Quake Lake. A landslide left it mark on the mountain at Quake Lake on Aug. While waiting for the even/odd turn to go to the Yellowstone National Park there is another impressive geological site outside of the park worth the time of travelers.
